well now that I am getting more and more skis getting them to the water is becoming a pain. I have a hoist on my pier that I use to put them in the water but its getting there that is the problem. I keep the skis in the garage all of the time and as of now i only have one cart. Which is basically a waggon that i threw two old motorcycle tires in to put my ski on and i have to keep lifing them on and off the waggon.

I want to make a cart similar to the ones I posted below for each of my skis.

if you have a cart like this, do you like it? what would you change. Post some pictures of what you use. I am looking for some ideas before I start welding.

I only have about a 100 foot run from the garage to the hoist and maybe 40% of that is through grass.

Thanks in advance

i dont really need a winch anyway because i put it in the water with a hoist. it is basically a crane that grabs it from the sides so i would go directly from the water pick it up with the crane spin it and drop it on the cart. then just pull the cart back to the garage and leave it sit on the cart. i will throw up some pictures of what i mean this evening to give you guys a better idea of what im talking about

just make it tall enough so you can comfortablly work on your ski in the garage w/o having to bend over too much.

well I finally got around to posting some pictures. I ended up using some electrical conduit tubing I had laying around and some wheels I got from tractor supply. I am not completely done with it but here is what I ended up with.

Looks really good but a couple comments/suggestions. The wheels should be good for you since you used narrower wheels before but if you take those to sand, they may not be very good. The other thought is you should put a cap on those legs so they don't dig into any dirt. Aagain may not affect you if you run it down boardwalk or across concrete but just a thought.

yeah i havent picked up the caps yet. I dont have any sand i have to deal with only the grass in my yard. but that is a good point. wider wheels would be nessesary for use in sand

here´s a pic of my home built cart.
used 6m 30x30mm steeltubing.
70cm 20mm axel
2 wheelbarrow wheels.
payed a total of 100 bucks for it all. i´m happy with it. maybe the wheels are to small for running in sand. but for me it works great :)
