ID on these reeds and cages please, as usual, ebay confuses everything

hey

i need to order reeds for this reed cage,
it off the world most fkd with 550.

and as usual, the sellers Display picture are 2 k/b large and with 1000000000000000 reeds listed for the 550.

I cant upload pics, so ill have to describe it. sigh.

from what i can see on ebay, i can either get the 4 screw or 2, but mine is 3 screws.
now, 3 screws is logical, but hey, were living on planet backwards remembers, so,
has someone just screwed another in the middle or am i just some blind kunt?

It would be great if someone could also tell me, which reed out of the selection, is the ones for the 550 sx? also, why do they include another reed in the packs, or is this just for sending purposes???, i need advice on which item i buy off ebay

without a picture nobody is going to be able to identify. But most likely, your cylinder was done before the 91-550sx was introduced. So before that you had Westcoast, PJS and Ocean Pro making reed induction aftermarket cylinders. Your reads could have been based off of those or off a 650 case induction motor. My guess is they are 650 reeds. Most likey the intake tracks were taken from a set of 650 cases. Or they could have been taken from motorcycle parts. Which will make it even more difficult to find parts for.

I ordered 650 reeds and they are they wrong ones,
they have the 2 slot, Wheres the ones are just 2 larger ones. I have a feeling they are stock 550 sx ones since the ski is australian, but i was a racer so idk.

those are old aftermarket 650 MMF i'm pretty sure. i've got a crusty set right here that looks identical. those take 650 kawi reed petals but not the stock 3 fingered ones. they have to be 2 finger or 1 solid petal, since the bar is in the middle. those dont really look bad. do they close with minimal air gap? you could use boyesen or carbon tech 650 petals on those aluminum cages. those petals could be boyesen since they are dual stage. 550sx petals are wider than the 650 petals and they are 3 finger also if stock. some carbon tech are 2 finger and they would bolt up but the edges would need to be cut down since they are wider.

just looked now
out 3/4 sets are 100% sealed, so just one side has the two petals, .5 of a MM, so yeah, quite minimal.
I think i can get away with it actually now that you say that, tbh tho, the other reed cage and reeds are much darker, and oil seems to be adding onto the sides.

So what reeds exactly do i get IF i wanted to replace?
