But then a buddy of mine said that he saw in a thread on pwctoday that some guy has put one of those vinyl car wrap type things on his ski and it looked awesome way better resolution than paint. Anyone ever heard of this? is it a good idea? economical? where do you go to get them? sounds like it should work in theory I guess.

Yeah it's vinyl wrap. There are a few members on here that successfully installed them and they can look really nice but I wouldn't consider them economical. I think the ebay ones are around $100 and I hear they suck while some quality ones are closer to $200 or more. If you are going to paint it, you can do it a lot cheaper but if you're planning on paying someone to paint your ski, the vinyl wrap may be a good option.

I'm thinking of going to a local vinyl store in town and pricing a wrap. The ones I see that exotic signs has would look super bad with a fresh coat of paint, but then we're back where we started. I'm wanting to have a blaze orange/red/white digital cammo or orange tiger stripe cammo, or possibly go old school with the graphics. I was looking at the pictures that seatsarefortoilets put up and got that idea.
