I'm running through Craigslist keeping an eye out for a lift, and I run across this:

Polaris Pro 1200 Race Jet ski - $3300 (Spring/Houston/Conroe, TX)

I have a 2000 Polaris Pro 1200 Racing jet ski for sale. Garage kept. This thing is super fast and runs like a champ! The carbs were rebuilt about 6hrs ago and ski itself has VERY low hours. Fires up on first try and has a great idle! The impellar is off of the ski right now for maintainance. One of the bolts broke off in the housing and has been drilled out. I am looking to free up some space in my garage and don't have much use for this beauty anymore. Comes with many extras: 2 life jackets, a custom fitted Polaris Cover, dock line, and spare key. Trailer has new lights and new registration. The jet ski's registration is brand new and is up in 2012. Clear title in hand. Call or text David @ 832-606-1445 or send email. Please no scammers. Cash or bank check only. Thanks for looking.

Since I was curious as to what he had done to it, I emailed and asked what mods had been done to his RACE ski.

Here is his reply:

"None, however i do have a set of flame arrestors and mounting hardware if you want it to breathe more...kind of like a cold air kit for a car. I left it stock due to the fact it would wear better than having a ton of mods to make it run race gas thru it. there are plenty of aftermarket parts for this thing, but i just used it recreationally on the lake."

OK, so how exactly is a ski with a set of flame arrestors in the garage and used recreationally on the lake a racing ski? Is it the "1" racing decal on the side?

The ski was marketed as a box stock race ready ski. It had triple pipes, mag pump, etc...etc.

Or was that just the 785? I dont know

+1

It is a race ready ski even if it is bone stock. Just like the 785 pro...

I dont think it came with triples, but they were available.
