Extended Outlook (Late week leading into the weekend): Models indicate the easterly swell will linger into the start of the weekend with the onshore flow gradually easing. The weather pattern of strong/cool highs pushing off the mid-Atlantic coast may prove to be a rather persistent pattern in early March, producing periodic episodes of strong/fresh onshore wind and multiple-day swells, accompanied by awesome spring weather and warmer SST’s. Megut is suggesting that a strong Hatteras low may materialize following the Ides of March, producing a N/NE ground swell of epic proportions… stay tuned.
