I keep breaking throttle brackets

I've gone through 3 throttles brackets this summer in my superjet. Any advice? Thinking of switching from dasa manifold to boyesen solely based on the throttle cable mount.

I'm guessing you don't set your throttle up correctly. If the cable is to tight it will break all sorts of stuff. I've seen throttle shafts snap, brackets break, cables snap ect. Where is your throttle lever when you are pinned? Does it hit the grip first? Or does the cable stop it?

I have the dasa intake as well, i opted to not set It as yours is and replaced the short Sj cable with a Long one and used the manifolds cable mount instead, my cable comes up thru the manifolds mount from the bottom, I Haven't had any problems

The other thing I'am not clear on is how you made the stock cable reach the back with the carbs installed backwards pump sides out. If I remember correctly the carb plate best fit the ports only one way, with built in cable mount at rear of engine. If you need more pics let me know

It's a sn bb cable from jetmaniac, it's plenty long enough, when I bought my manifold i didn't get a bracket that looked like that

Oh you did the long cable too that's good. Which bracket are you refereeing too, in your first post pic I see the manifolds built in cable mount.

Edit: never mind it's an illusion, when magnified I see it's a cap screw and the lever looks like the slit for the cable

I took another pic, the cable mount is built into this manifolds carb plate.

I also checked my adjustment at full throttle, bell crank hits throttle stop on carb body, lever is at grip but still have slight slack in cable

I wish mine was like that, I think that's the older style mani, they removed that piece on the newer version

It's prolly the other way around, newer version with built in cable bracket ear, I sold a few months back a Boysen and it had the same set up. How about looking for the carb adapter plate with cable ear used?

I saw an R&D for sale today with adapter plate for $180 but not sure if it had the cable ear on the plate, no pics

Don't know if dasa sells the adapter plates separately

Edit: How's your full throttle stop and adjustment, from your pic it looks like the brackets bent too. Are you hitting the carbs throttle stop before you run out of throw at the throttle lever ?

Thanks guys. I've got it zip tied to my fuel lines which run down the side of the hull behind the f/a. Cable is not stressed once i adjust. I agree its coming from vibration. These throttle brackets just dont seem strong enough.

does anyone think that putting rubber grommets/washers between the bracket and fuel pump body would be a good idea to help reduce vibration?
