My search for a SJ hull is finally over. It ended last night after a trip over to Tom21's shop yesterday evening. And he got himself a nice white Blaster hull in the trade.

It is a 1990 Yellow SN Hull that had, well, some rather interesting aftermarket backyard fabrication done it.

While Tom & I were grinding the PO's homemade pump shoe out, we discoverd the following. Toielt paper roll, paper, screen, wax paper, bondo and some interesting rubber material that must of came from NASA.
And we made our own mark to the inside pump area with a "TOM21 special" crow bar... yeah Tom broke out his crow bar to work on my ski... But it worked to get rid of the nasty build up material that the last guy used.. Just a little patch job and Tom had back on my way. Thanks...

We deturfed it last night to get it ready for footholds. This was my first experience with deturfing a standup. And the whole process only took about an hour. Got kinda lucky with that one I guess...I have heard horror stories from other people.

Tubbies are next in line as well. SInce there are already some nice hole where PO tried to place some tubbies. That also appeared to have failed as well.

Well also had to do some structural fixing of the handlepole that, once again. The last owner added his own NASA special metal plates to the side for fixing the cracks the cracks in the pole. Well, some grinding, and some glass took care of most of his work. It isn't pretty looking, but it will work for now until we find a different pole to use. Or until this one just snaps off and sinks to the dark deep blue of the gulf.

I will add more updates as work continues this afternoon...

But here is what we have so far.. Just click on the pics to enter my Pufile page to view all at once.. After adding all of the below links..Duh....

Cool Ninja ski:biggrin: That pole is a lot worse than I thought it was, and the guy that owned the ski, does work for NASA, that's why my ski has or used to have NASA style stickers:rolleyes:
Let's see the foot holds and turf job.

NASA--That is too funny, I didn't know that either.. LOL

The footholds are going to be tonights project if Danny comes by the shop again tonight. If not, I will be working on the pole some more to make a little more stronger.

And I believe Reed is stopping over to drop off some goodies for me also. :cheer:

And I may start on doing a Slutty hood also, but I may just get it together first so I can ride. And then locate another back up hood so I can ride while doing the deconstruction of that hood.

I just can't wait to get this "Low Budget Ski" out on the water...:woot:

I can't figure out what is going on in that 5th pic of the pump intake. What a mess!

Is there really such a thing? They start out that way at first....Looks like a fun project hull though.
How's those ribs doing?

the 5th pic is where he made his own homemade pump shoe liner.. :skull2:

And the little bits of carnage is what is left over on the ground..

the ribs are healed, but they do give me a reminder once a week or so. Old age is setting in early in that spot of my body.

And as for the budget ski... Ohh yes, this will be my under $400 SJ build.. I promise you that....

But if my wife asks anyone, it was all for FREE....:cool2:

Well.. I finally gave up on the pole. I located an AC Aluminum pole (thx, PAT)

The tubbies are almost finished being installed, and I have to cut out my footholds this week also. I will post up some pics this week.
