Hull defoaming, is it worth it?

I have a 750 sxi-pro hull that I am needing to defoam and fix a crack on the bottom of the hull. Does it make a big difference when you defoam the ski and just reinforce it rather then refoaming it. I am just wonder because I dont want to do all this fiberglassing and end up with a cracked hull again because I didnt put foam back in it. Just wondering what the benifits y'all have found in doing this.

Don't defoam a 750. The kawi foam doesn't absorb water like the SJ's. I've ran my kawi for a whole summer with the foam fully exposed (not realizing what I was doing). After all that time I just quickly vacuumed the standing water up, added footholds, fiberglassed the open foam, and returfed it. After all that the ski still weighed about 300lbs which is about what it weighed before hand...it weighs about 305 now but I'm contributing that to extra paint and water in the exhaust.

Fix the crack and continue riding.
