Hull Braces

I plan on purchasing a pole mount brace for my 550 hull, but haven't had any luck finding the hull braces for the sides. I have surface cracks where the front brace usually goes, but my ski is reinforced on the inside & is very strong. I would like one there more for cosmetic reasons. The reinforcement goes all the way back to the back of the engine compartment. I will most likely make my own braces modeled after the old beef-it kits. I just wander whether or not it would make sense to install them with hardware similar to the old kits or adhere them directly to the outside surface of the hull. I think that putting them on without drilling holes would prevent the potential of cracks growing from the drilled holes and the braces would still disperse impact on a sideways landing.

What do you think my fellow Xters?

I mean't to post this in old school, my bad...
