How wide to make bar's

I am making a set of straight bar's out of schedule 80 aluminum, How wide do I make them? RN superjet, AC -1 pole, short turn plate, any recommendation's please ?

My stock bars are 21.5" and my x-metal straight bars are 24" (24.5" to the ends of ODI grips). Just want to say OMG what a difference 2.5" makes.

Thank's guy's 24" it is. I just wanted to cut them to length before I powder coat them.

I think you should bend em up into the ape hanger style and start a trend.

i've tried 28 and found them way to wide. 24" was perfect.

x3 on what everyone else said.

wish i would've figured that out before i cut into my 8 foot section of bar stock, cause i would've had 4 sets of bars instead of three.

I agree with Motoman, But I started at 30 which was what size of tube I had. Then kept cutting them down. Mine is 25 inches right now and still need a bit trimmed off.
