I want to make a mock of my squarenose front nose piece with the fuel cover. But on the new one i want to make it all smooth.

how can i lay glass on top but be able to remove it later? like putting a layer of plastic wrap underneith or something, and being able to just pull it off when its dry.

what works?

I used plastic wrap and I worked just fine. Some of the plastic did stick to the glass....but not too bad.

Not sure what else might work....

FWIW Silicone spray lube makes a good release agent. For a project like this where you will really make a mess if it goes wrong I think I'd probalby look for specialty stuff (us composites etc). Silicone works great for small parts though, eg spray it on a screw and pot it in epoxy and it will unscrew and leave nice perfect treads.

Justin, there are several places in San Diego that carry what you need. Look up Diversified Materials. They are in La Mesa, and stock everything you might need to make a mold.

no i wasn't there... but i know you've been working on that thing and just got it out like two weekends ago for the first time but it was still a little ways of completely finished. that day with the crappiest conditions i've ever seen out at oceanside, surfing or jetsking.
