how much run time will you get out of a stroker?

how much run time am i looking at with a big cc motor? i just installed my 830.. this motor was done about 5 years ago. it a 5mm stroke with an 85 mm flat top piston. i ride my boat 2x a week sometimes more. (if i can) normal run time for a 701 with high compression is around 300 to 350 before needing a loo king over. (thats with a sinking here or there)i would rather pull it apart befor its blows up. what kind of time frame am i look at? pump gas motor.

i have not run the 830 yet. my 701 just exploded sunday. so its time for the big guy.

Still Fat....
I went 5 years of riding on the 5mil/85mm bore RD-Lamey i have
not bad considering over 215psi (and a few tanks at 235psi)
that was also spinning a 13/15 Solas prop and 9-15 Hooker prop as well
I was hitting 7k+ on the tach as well

crank was still awesome, and the rings were about due, but pistons were awesome
i also swaintech coated the pistons too

so i can't complain about that life span
there were a few years we did about 6-10 jugs of fuel a week during the summer too
I used Klotz R50 oil at 30:1

you'll be good to go for a while

Paul at LPW did the engine when he was still in NJ :)
Also the VF2's were still good as well, but i did replace them, .5mil overbore, and new crankworks crank with hybrid bearings since we had it apart late last year

also keep in mind i am extremely heavy, and the ski is also very heavy too (re-enforced and added nose weight)

I am on my 3rd season on a RAD 5mil crank and I rebuild top end every season aka 160 gallons of fuel. KNOCK ON WOOD!!!

It is according to who builds the motor.. My 5mm 850 was built in NJ also. It made it about 10 hours before eating it's own rod... If you are not "real" sure what your doing I would have a reputable builder do it then you will be good with no worries..

HUH? Move back, I thought you moved out there for health reasons for Missy?

Yeah we did at first... but OMG the freak'n boredom.... We need life, food, water, and car scene, plus be a little closer to friends and families
i don't want to Hi-Jack this thread about this.... but..... we have started looking again (two main locations Huntsville AL and Augusta GA (Fort Gordon for me))

seems like the life of the strokers are pretty decent.... don't forget i also run leaded fuel (race gas) which i am one of the old timers in believing of the added lubricity (i know more for 4 strokes then 2)
also how you ride will impact it as well, i'm somewhat soft on whacking the throttle, i tend to roll into it (hence the use of steep props)
as far as 5mil+ and life span..... i can't really answer, never had one <yet>

hit the water today. had some carb issues. 4 psi off from front to back carb and it wounldnt run on the cylinder with the higher pop off down low. ripped up top. fixed the pop off and its pretty good. little lazy to get on the pipe of idle.mite be a pipe screw ajustment. it only has the bottom screw open now.
