Other how long will an open tube of 5200 last?

once I open a tube of 5200, how long will it last before it dries up? its the white stuff (not sure if that matters), says 7 day cure time (48hr non tack) on the packaging and its marked permanent. The directions say an open tube could cure in 48hrs, wondering if they say that just to keep from having angry customers if it does cure in a few days.. Do i need to worry if I put the cap back on? should I store it in a fridge/freezer? The local stores only had big tubes no little so I dont want to use a 1/3 tub and waste it.

When ur done using it in ur application squirt out 1/4 of inch and leave it there so when it hardens a 1/4 will be sticking out it will get hard when ur ready to use it next time rip the 1/4 inch off and ur ready to apply again. I got a tube that was over 2 yrs old I found behind. The work bench pulled it off and used it worked just fine
