How do you temp seal pump for prop changes?

Getting the boat finsihed up and i know i will be doing alot of impeller swapping till i find the right combo. I have several props on hand so they would be changed same day. Do you guys have a way to temporarily seal the pump that would last a day or so to test ride with the different props?

I would think resiliconing and then scaping and cleaning each time would be tedious. and a long wait for it to dry and go riding.

Use waterproof marine grease for temp seal. Unless you have a gap seal to shoe, the grease should work just fine.

I do have some gaps. What do you guys think of using a hot glue gun. That stuff sets up in a minute or 2 and i think it should be easier to get off then silicone.

What I do is very carfully cut the silicone right at the pump edge with a razor knife, pull the pump out, then when it goes back I just need a thin film to seal between the pump and existing silicone. Sometimes you can almost get away without it as things fit back fairly tite.
