300/440/550 how do install pole spring????

Bought this spring for my 91 550 sx and i cant figure out how to install it. It only way it seems to fit I would have to notch the pole to get clearance. Can any one help or post pics of there install.

Not my picture and this guy is also using a stock spring but should give you an idea. It sucks getting that one in, just takes a lot of effort trying to press it in while trying to slide the bolt in

Wow, two springs, must have been a b**** to install. Wonder why he didn't just heat/bend one of them.
