How did this come off?!

Just had the most bizarre thing happen today. I ride in Oceanside with my friend this morning. We get back to the launch ramp, and all 3 of the bolts that hold the stock exhaust chamber onto the mounting piece came off. There was metal shavings everywhere and one of the bolts snapped in half too. Keep in mind, these had lock-tite on and were bolted in all the way.

We go back to my house, put lock tite on the other 2 normal bolts. We bolted them in, and they were tight!

Rode again in mission bay in the afternoon. Finished up and put the ski back on the truck. Opened up the hood and the screws came out again!

Never seen this before. Any knowledge on how this may have happened? I am clueless right now.

Here is a before and after pic.

I had a similar issue with a coffman pipe last summer, the head pipe bolts would work themselves out after a ride or two. I tried lock tight as well... it ended up being the vibrations from my motor not being aligned that caused them to back out.

Once they come loose just a little, they are vibrating in there and wearing out the threads. Once they do that you should get new bolts and helicoil the threads.
Had this issue with a FP head pipe. Look at the bolt threads. I bet the threads are tapered and feel sharp. Lock tite will no longer help because the surface area of the threads has been cut down.

Yeah, your right, bolts are done. Oh well...At least I'm going to be putting on this wonderful pipe someone is letting me borrow (wink wink). I should get a "couple" extra horses out of it. It will be a great alternative for the time being.

Thanks for all the input guys.
