Coil:
Measure the resistance from spark plug terminal (inside boot) to ground. Should be 20k or so.
Measure on the primary side orange to black wire. Should be 1-2 Ohms.

This is for a SJ, right?

What stator, 61X or 62T?

You need to check the AC voltage on the charging coil at cranking speed, it should be 30-50 Volts AC. If you do in fact have the proper voltage at the charge coil pull the orange wire connector apart going to the coil and see if you have voltage actually going to the coil when you crank it over. if in fact you do have adequate voltage going to the coil this means the trigger , charge coil and CDI are working properly.
