Hot pto coupler (why)

I have maybe 4 hours on a new cold fusion coupler with the blue dampner. I noticed how hot it was. I'm guessing it to be 160-170 deg. I used the drive shaft alignment tool and carefully adj motor for coupler alignment. Anybody else notice their coupler running hot. I'm concerned about heat soaking into crank seal.

I have 2 Blasters with same coupler but don't recall other being so hot. Yes I set alignment with out dampener. And set shaft alignment with self entering tool. I feel very good about coupler alignment and gap. I did replace bearings and seals on mid shaft this year and I followed the directions closely. I believe there is a write up on this site. I measured for shaft length closely with calipers. I'm not sure how a double lip seal on mid shaft would create this much heat. I greesed the mid shaft housing that supplies lubrication to seals correct. I wonder if a Kawlasaki dampener would be a better fit.

The new seals ride tight on the midshaft and create heat. Midshafts are known for getting hot especially with new seals, years ago I would worry about it too but have learned It's normal.

Water cooled coupler LOL. Ya just when I got engine bay nice and dry. Ok thanks for some experts chiming in. I'll have to check other ski again and compare the two. When I say hot it like putting my hand on expansion chamber. Temp stickers from McMaster show my pipe running 160 deg. Head 140. If the sticker will stay attached to a spinning coupler I might give that a try for fun.
