Hooray!!!

Well this past weekend has been a pretty big step in my skill on my jetski. Last week I could only ride the thing but not ride it hard. This weekend I learned how to hop thanks to thongbandit and perfected it the last two days. Now I can hop pretty good... even out of flat water :woot: . Also today was the first day that I figured out my stance to quit porpoising. I can now blast across the lake like its nobody's business. I got a question about hopping though. Sometimes when I come down it makes sort of a loud noise. Is this what you guys refer to as "pancaking". I am assuming it is because I am landing to flat. Is this correct? Is it bad for the ski when this happens? How do I fix it? Also, I plan on going and buying a bilge as soon as I get my next paycheck so I can start learning to sub. I tried a few times today but I couldn't get the nose into the water. Any pointers on how to sub? Thanks for all your help!!!

try not to flatland. its not good for the ski.

if your looking to do tricks, get some footholds.

contact steve (waterfreak) at the watercraft factory if youre interested. he makes better ones, and for cheaper, than the others.

hey cracker when you hop it up just keep that pole down and lean a little foward so your not landing flat try doing it with your feet positioned like you got footholds and press out to hold the ski for now....let me know when you wanna come get those lifters of i can just give em to ya next time we hook up....btw how was the big lake today???

So exactly how should your feet be postioned?

and what is porpoising?

sorry for the newb questions... I try to get as much as I can out of the "search" feature, but sometimes I just gotta ask...

when riding i put one foot forward and my stong foot at the back corner of the tray i ride goofy footed so my left foot is in the back left corner and my right toes are up in the right corner of the tray...when i go to hit something i put my feet in my holds but b-4 i got those id pretend like i had em and wedge my feet in the back corners of the tray........porpising is when the ski isnt planed out and kinda keeps poping back out of the water as your trying to go.........

A longer rideplate will help but from what I have read if you're form isnt down you will still porpoise, which is exactly what has been happening to me (I got a longer rideplate). But be patient and you will finally find the spot and stance to stop it. Ive been riding a couple weeks now and just found my stance yesterday.
