hood lip reinforcement question

So I was told to take a piece of carbon fiber tape and roll it up like a fishing pole and put it around the hood lip...

I tried rolling it up, but it would not stay rolled up.... not even for a second

BTW- I am using 2" carbon fiber tape

I am confused how to do this... do you have to add filler to make it stick in the rolled up shape or something?

Also,
How many layers of 1708 would you use to reinforce the nose on the inside of the ski? I was planning on 2 or 3 at the moment...

I only have one layer of biax on my ski and it has held up fine so far, no need to add extra weight.

I was mostly wondering about why I was having problems rolling the carbon fiber..... anyone have any ideas?

Perhaps you need to twist it at an angle, instead of actually trying to roll it up
