Other hood air intakes

What is the concept, behind how to set up your air intakes in the hood and also through a pole? I would assume that you want pretty much an upside down "U" so that when the ski is upside down water doesn't get it in.
Any info or pics would be helpful. Im starting a build so trying to get ideas...

I have never run the tubes and my ski spends alot of time upside down. water really isnt going to come in there with it upside down since there is nowhere for the air to go. It is like taking an empty glass and trying to push it under water..... no water gets in because there is nowhere for the air to go. the main thing you need to do is at least have little stubs sticking through from engine bay to open air and have then stick out about 3 inches so the water go past but the air will get in.

Brett, you have too much time lol

The best setup is one where the hoses extend above the waterline (when ski is upside down), and the hoses are on an angle towards the center of ski to prevent water from coming in when the ski is on its side. The stock FX-1 hood is a great example to copy....it's the driest design I've ever seen.

Ok. Sounds like I should try to do something like making the vent on the right side dump into the left side of the hull and then just make sure water won't come in while I'm upside down
