High compression issue

you are the reason
So i put a 210-220 compression westcoast head on a 760. Race gas was used. It hit well but not well enough. Suspected blow by as i didnt have a girdle kit on it. I changed my head back down to get 160 compression. Braud band brap now when before it was almost a rev limited braap. Like braaaa-aa-aaaa- ap. Now braaaap! Understand?

It should have been more of a brAAAPp with the new head, I can see how braaaa-aa-aaaa-ap would be concerning. You can probably tune out the -aa-aaaa-, but the -ap wont go away with your current setup, also, blowby on your head should be noticeably on the pissers....

he is saying it was breaking up. the - 's are it sputtering almost like a rev limitter. weren't u running race gas mix not pure race gas? also what oes plug tunning tell you? detonation?

well first we need to define Braap
Braaap
Adj.

A sound of elation, similar to the revving of an engine in a dirtbike/quad. Often used after achieving a good grade or making a badass play in a sport. Sometimes also used when referring to any type of vehicle with a powerful, winding engine. See also go burls.

Background

Originally exclusive to dirtbike/ATV riders, the phrase "BRAAAAPP!" is now widespread across the world. Many people believe that the tradition started many years back when Malcom ----- was interviewed after his first motocross win . Excited about his victory, Malcom described his final turn with the sound made by his dirtbike, exclaiming "BRAAAPP!!!!" in a gleeful manner. It has since been picked up by many across the world and is now a powerful adjective in today's society.

Secondly, we need to determine that the said rider is using the braaap lever properly, Jeff are you using the full potential of the braaap lever? Perhaps a twist throttle would solve your issue :)

Back at the o.p. Im thinking it was needle and seat maybe or i'm running a 62t 760 topend so perhaps with higher port timing is needed to be retarted. Duh. I'll tell if it was needle and seat next time out

depending on what type of RG you use, you have to rejet. at havasu the Rage guys were starting to run low on fuel. They were running MS109. To go by local race gas they would have needed to Rejet....... This could or could not be your problem. Hard to say.

We've had the same issues. The MS-109 was the problem. Dropped down to MS103 and our problems were cured. I learned that ALOT of big time builders stay away from 109 and run 103 in all their race boats
