SX/SXi/SXi Pro Help with starting after non-use for a while 750sx

Fuel selector is on normal and a full tank of gas, I'm not an idiot. 750sx single carb keihin stock fuel system except for a premix conversion.

After sitting overnite the ski will not start. Even after cranking for a solid 30 seconds nothing happens, I squirt premix down the carbs and it fires right up but as soon as I stop squirting it dies shortly after. If I nurse it along with premix squirted down the carb for 15-30 seconds it will then run fine. I therefore assume the fuel pump does not pump air while the engine is cranking but works fine at running rpms sucking the air and fuel through the lines to the carb.

So the problem is the fuel is draining out of the carb and lines back into the tank. I've tried leaving it with the fuel selector left in all 3 positions, normal/off/reserve, but that doesn't seem to help. How is it possible for fuel to drain back? How would I remedy this, A primer squirting fuel into the engine would not be a viable option because the engine needs to run for a bit to pump the air and fuel through. Would an outboard engine inline primer bulb work to pump the fuel back into the carb?
