Help with removing wiring...

How do I remove these 2 wire plugs? Dumb question I know but seeing that I have spent 30 minutes trying to do it and no success I figure I ask someone with experience...

On the male side of the plug there is a small rectangular lever with a hole in it thet you have to depress for the plug to release.
