1990 SN SJ with 701 B pipe:
This W shaped metal piece with 3 holes
was in the bottom of my ski
along with crank seal springs
and strange rubber grommet
when I pulled motor with blow seals
anyone know what it is? Thanks!

The grommet/seal looks like the ones on the start/stop connectors...the other tab doesn't ring any bells for me, it looks like it may have been encased in rubber at one time if that helps envision it's origin. Maybe one of the bumpers for the gas tank or waterbox?

that piece with the 3 holes is the plate that is under your fuel / water separator so the pop rivets hold it to the inside lip of your engine bay.

good call Mick!! The picture makes that plate look quite a bit larger than it really is. It's really no wider than a dime.

yup, crank seals blown, not a pretty sight
top end still 180/180 so hopefully just needs new seals
