hey!
i bought an EPIC ingintion from atp recently. went to install it this weekend. but it didn´t give a spark. checked all my wires and they are connected with help of the instructions.
took it out and put my stock one in and it sparks right away. rode the ski this weekend and it ran fine with the stock cdi.

well today i went to try it on a buddies ski and it worked fine on his ski. so i know that the epic isnt faulty.
used a meter to measure it today. my Wh/BR wire gave me a reading of 530ohm and 25 volts when cranking. tho my battery was kinda low on juice. so i´m charging it now.

if my ski runs with my stock cdi and the epic isnt faulty where can the problem be?
i installed it the same way on my buds ski and it sparked and ran fine. so my connecting isn´t of either.

please help me want to run this and feel the awesomeness.

I've been thinking about this and here are a couple of observations. The voltage from your charge coil is a little low, this may be due to your battery being discharged. With this in mind the cranking speed will need to be above 120 rpm, below this EPIC will struggle. It could be possible (although I have not known this before) that the pulse coil is off spec and not supplying enough voltage. Lastly (and I did come across this once) maybe the magnets have become slightly weak on the flywheel. It may be a good idea to get your friends ski and compare all the readings between the two to see where the differences are.
Be sure to keep us posted.
Chris.

charging battery tonight. will check again tomorow(sp?)

so i was trying to get a reading of the pulse but it didnt give anything. its a digital meter and i read that i need to use an analog. but my analog one doesnt read AC.
my magnets have marks on them like from something rubbing them. could his make them weaker?

measured today with charged battery. 36-37 volts on charge coil.
measured the pulser coil also and i got 2,1 volts with a digital meter. dont know if thats the max voltage. or if thats an avrage voltage. like if its 0 then 4,2 the avrage would be 2,1. or if 2,1 is the highest voltage. when i cranked it it never showed zero.

well now i know what the problem was and it´s fixed and the ski runs.

the pulser coil was shot! got a rewound one from chris @ ATP

changed it out today. now the epic works.

now i´m a happy camper! thanks chris for all the help.
