I replaced my bad start stop switch with an aftermarket sealed one that has no lanyard and the stop button doesn't seem to work real well any more. What is the best way to turn off my ski if the button isn't worrking? can I yank the start stop connections? should I pull the spark plug wires? I ask because I'm trying to fix it and need to know what to do if my attemps fail.

I wouldnt pull the plugs wires especially standing in the water..I have seen too many people get shocked doing that on the ground let alone in the water.

You could put your hand over the flame arrestor to eliminate the air to the carbs, but that too would be a pain in the ass to half to pull the hood off every time.

You might want to try another/different stop start switch..

I was a retard and messed with my plugs while standing in the water. Its got quite the strong spark:rolleyes:. I would take Tiny's advice.

I have a solution until I can get this one rebuilt. it involves 2 wires hanging out of the hood. one connected to the white wire and the other to ground. touch them to gether and the engine stops running.

I don't want to name names until I know if it's the switch or not. but the company who sold it to me is standing behind it. :Banane01:

Don't worry...this being your ski, it shouldn't run more than 60 seconds before grenading and thus shutting down.

Ross Champion says you are a pansy. hehe.

I thought I wasn't getting spark one day, figured it was something in the electrical box. He stuck his finger in the plug boot while I cranked to confirm the plug wires were getting juice.

oh ****, that's funny.

I took it out today it ran great for about an hour. my ghetto kill switch ( 2 wires with bullet connectors) worked great. then I stripped a short shaft I think. motor revs and I don't go anywhere. I'm back to being the dope on a rope again.
