Well I know some of you have seen me around, and even more so over on PWCT. But I have been a 550 guy for a while, but I was trying to get out and get into a SJ.

Well now I have, but I got myself into a '90 SN hull with a '94 701 61x blown motor...

I will get pictures and more info as I get into it more. I was looking at beefing the hull up but where my real problem lies is in the motor...

What should I do to get some power out of this? Should I keep it the single carb setup? maybe bump it up to a 46? Its going to be running a protec pipe for the first part of its new life, but because I am going to have this all apart and down to the crank, what should I do to it? what direction should I go with it? I know hardly anything about the yamaha stuff... I had it explained to me a little but I still need to read more I believe...

I will be using this for more of a freeride boat than a freestyle. Big air off of wakes and maybe waves if I get the chance... I'm not looking to do a flat water backflip... but a backflip off of a wake/wave, yeah... so any and all advice would be great...

Thanks a lot guys... I'm pumped I can be apart of the SJ family even if I'm still sporting an old girl...

We'll id start with just rebuilding the motor choose either the pro-x or wiseco piston kits...I prefer wiseco but pro-x is really nice stuff too, make sure the crank is good! leave the single 44 on there for now until you bump your compression, for power add-ons, run a pipe/head/dual carbs...that thing would be pleeenty of power for just freeriding.

Well I guess its cheaper to buy a different crank than to rebuild this one...

I was thinking it would be cheaper to just get new rods and do all the work local, guess not...

What does everyone think of SBT cranks? 1 year warnty, cheaper than anywhere else, even cheaper than personal seller's used cranks...
