Super Jet Helicoil stator plate bolts?

So I just installed helicolis in both of the stator plate bolt holes on a set of 62t cases. They needed them because the stator had vibrated loose and oblonged the holes. My question or rather concern is the strength of these helicolis to hold the stator in place and prevent it from happening again. I just got my 62t stator back from jss and would hate to have the stator vibrate loose and damage it.

Any thioughts?

i had to do one of my threads 2 seasons ago with no problems. i dont see why it wouldnt hold up if you installed them correctly. I also switched out the short OEM crappy bolts for a little longer allen wrench style bolt. tighten them up good with a little blue loctite and you'll be good to go.

Cool, I am assuming I did them properly as I followed the instructions, these are my first ones I have had to do so we shall see I guess. Jss provided nice new allen head bolts so they should do the trick.

Typically when a helicoil comes loose, it's because the hole was too big for the helicoil to start with or you didn't do a good job centering the tap. If they're tight in the threads, a helicoil is a good bit stronger than normal so you can torque the screws down a little harder to make sure everything stays put. I've rattled bolts out of helicoils but in the countless helicoils I've installed in various engines, manifolds, etc. I've only had one helicoil come out and that's because it unscrewed with the bolt after 2 years of being installed improperly.

If you drilled the hole properly, centered the tap, and didn't goober up the helicoil when installing it, it should be fine.

Yes, properly installed Helicoil inserts have increased holding strenght. But be sure to use a thread locker (like Loctite) on the stator fasteners whether you have inserts or not!

Blue... If you use red, you'll probably pull the helicoil out with the screw. Can't hurt to install the helicoil with red but no sense in removing it now.
