...tried to cram a 700 cc polaris motor into a 550 hull?

I've heard of people doing 650 kawi swaps, but just wondering if it's doable at all. I only ask because I just happen to have a line on one for free from a wrecked boat.

sounds like more trouble than its worth personally....i did a 650 to 440 swap and it was still a dog, the hull sucks too

well my other polaris is about as reliable a boat as I've ever seen (if you can believe that). I was just thinking, since I have a bare hull I'm playing with, and a free power train, maybe try to mate them up and see what I get. It was just a thought. I may go get it still and see what it looks like. if its still doggy then so be it, this is strictly a "for fun" "what if" ski.

honestly, it seems like a great idea on paper...big engine in a small hull. But there is one MAJOR problem with swap skis....the pump.

the js's pump is just too small....and its not easy to swap in a 650 type...man i wish it was!

I just cant seem to get any low end grunt like a larger pump....it goes fast top speed....but cant process enough water at low rpms.

what if someone were to say... remove the pump shoe area and replace it with the guts out of the ski the engine came from? think that would work? :sneaky:

honestly, a 650 would be the best upgrade on that ski without too much hassle with a factory wet pipe.

HA! I wish I had one of those.

I "aquired" an SL(T?)700 (700cc twin) couch complete and running that slammed into a dock and broke the nose almost completely off. I'm just wondering if it's guts could be xplanted into a 550 hull that is already had one run in with Mr. Sawzall.
