Freestyle HALP! with my rolls please.

So this vid I found is not me. But his barrel flops are EXACTLY like mine and I have been at this flop stage for almost two summers. Its pissing me off. I flop upside down so much i get a headache with a helmet on.

Analyzing Chris Anyzeski's sic videos of him with pretty much the same setup as me in his older video. (ss850 b pipe stock pump) I should have no excuse to not be able to roll like a boss. Only thing I can think of is have my chest over the bars. So the jet pilot logo is touching the chin pad. Keep the nose down? and let the jet and wave push the boat around like a over rotated stab. Being to far back slows the spin?

My current flops if i were to go no handed i would die.

I tend to do the same thing as you, from what I have learned is that you need to crank the bars all the way and try to rotate off of the nose more. Stay as compact as possible, ie handle pole on hood. It's a lot to think about but keep trying, your almost there!

the lame thing too is it doesnt matter if its my tiny wake or a wake board boat wake. I land up side down either way. I can feel the ski pulling away from me as I am trying to pull it back with my feet. I also am not looking at where I might land. just staying tucked and waiting for impact lol.

If chris anyzeski sees this maybe he has some footage of him not on board and from the bank. His newer vid with the mag and 760 is mostly back flips.

BTW my solas mag shows up this week!

Get that pole on the hood !!!!!!!!!!! Even thinking of pushing it into the hood p fe you have started rotation . Make sure you are hitting full lock to full lock on the steering and full throttle .

Okay, I had the same problem when i was learning the roll, no matter what size wake i had, i could not get them further round than 3/4s. On my XFS now with a 712cc (b pipe, total loss, solas mag etc) and i began doing the same which really annoyed me. I watched loadsa videos of the pro's barrel rolls and noticed they hit the wake as if they were going for a nosestab, then tucked in after. I tried it and bam! plate to plate straight away every time.

So the trick i found was to lean upwards forwards and RIGHT initially as you crank the bars left (this gets your height) and then tuck under as you start to rotate. Your pole should naturally be on or close to the hood at all times.

Watch the slow motion reply at the end to see what im on about, i didnt hit the wake brilliantly but it still went round :) Hope this helps!

i see what you mean. i am not going lock right then lock to the left. also looks like every one stays centered and doesnt really hang off the left. or throw their weight over the side.

yeah it goes against your instinct to lean right when you wanna be rolling left but trust me it works, thats what gets the back end to spin out and the nose to stay centered. Also the pre turn to the right is essential.

Thanks brotha, you just helped me get my rolls around a little easier!

some of your rolls you almost land with the nose in, and some you land nose high and back end first. One is like like a nose stab that goes all the way around. then others are a barrel roll.

Is this a different trick? or just a different style?

I think Lucas does the cleanest rolls I have seen. Super tight & clean rotation vs the big tail whip that some guys get. I'm sure someone has time to dig up some of his vids and post a link
