Guess what I rode this weekend???????

The Good Old Days
A few years ago, before the official release of the 3D the guys who were doing the rounds around the country showing them stopped in our area.
They had a rest weekend after a local boat show and didn't want to be stuck in the hotel.

We showed them around and in return got the 3D's do do with them what ever we wanted for the whole weekend.
They had 3 of them but one was down with electrical problems (typical SeaPoo) but the other 2 were OK.

Even though SeaDoo was paying for the fuel and oil no one wanted to waste their time riding them pigs.
Cart mode was fun for about 10 minutes, after that it was all down hill.

No power to speak off, without sponsons turning was a hassle and the things would unhook at the slightest ripple.

Even the SeaDoo guys (young guys who were doing this gig for school money) didn't want to ride the water abortions also known as the 3D.

That's a given, but I bet it'll blow the doors off of a stock Superjet or SX-R any day of the week, hands down, no contest :hail:

NOTE: I've never ridden a 3D, never even seen one on the water.

No, absolutely not.
Topspeed, yes, but that's it.

I've had both a stock 701 SJ and an 04 XP DI (same thing as the 3D, just a couple pounds lighter)
I know how hard each pulls, and IMHO, the 3D platform looses.

Numbers:
3D - 610lbs/130HP = 4.69 lbs./HP
SJ - 291lbs/73HP = 3.99 lbs./HP

Those numbers are generous, as they figure dry weight. The 3D is going to be quite a bit heavier with all fluids and a fatass rider.
