How do dry out my tray foam with out redueing it all ? This is my backup ski so is there a way over winter to get the water out ? I noticed that my foam was wet when my trailer had piece of metal that has rubbed threw the bottom of my ski. I've check my ski for a couple of days its not dripping water but if I touch the spot that was rubbed threw its wet. Is there a halfass way of drying the foam out?

no theres not. after taking all my foam out i can see why it would stay wet for years. the foam is dense enough to hold moisture but not release it.
i bet EVERY ski that has not been refoamed and sealed properly has wet foam, so dont worry too bad.

Do it twice?That's DooDoo
honestly I dont think there is any way around it... I dont know if the foam gets old and the cells break down allowing water to get in or what... so maybe even if you could get the water out it would come back just as easy...

Maybe put the ski in a heat treatment furnace on a very low temp for a long time??? I really doubt that would work though...

Best just to rip it out, seal it up good, and get some good 2 part foam from US Composites... (they have website)

I forgot!
i had wet foam around footholds and i let the hull sit for a couple weeks at least while waiting for my new holds to come in. the foam did dry up around the foothold openings but deep down there was still moisture, i would agree that once foam is soaked and dried, it absorbs it even more like a sponge than the first time. best thing is hull drains to remove water after each ride.
