Super Jet goop in carbs

Went riding without flame arrestors today while tuning because it's easier to get at the adjustment screws with them off. I haven't really done that before so I'm curious if this fuel/oil/water buildup on the inside of the carb is normal or not. If not, is it an adverse effect of something specific?

I know the carbs aren't perfect right now and I know I should be able to get more out of this engine but it's not terrible.

That's "soylent green". It's made from dead people in order to feed live people.

Some of it must have gotten in your carbs.

Seriously though: You know way more than me about these things. But I'm guessing that you were testing in salt water?

Did you do anything that would introduce salt water into the engine compartemnt? Just a guess.

I live near the ocean. everything is green. (especially brass or bronze)

The green stuff is well above the venturi's...it has to be coming in with the air.

This was done on fresh water. It's basically an oily film and I know when you mix some oily gas with water, it looks like that. The oil I use is blue/green so that would explain the tint but the shear quantity and the fact that it's only in the throat is what gets me.
