goofy foot foothold

Footstraps kinda worked but don't like choosing 1 spot to stand. Had footholds and could'nt get my balance right with both feet in the back. With footholds I used to lock my toes on my back foot which led me to this idea. I'm thinking this should work to lock me in & still be able to move around. The only problem is I see me cracking my ribs while floundering behind the ski. I'll give it a shot, it will be easier to take off than to put on:rolleyes:

And you know as soon as I tear off my turf a tropical storm rolls off the coast:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

looks like it could break an ankle on a side landing somehow. i can also see it hampering your ability to board the ski from the back. definately interesting. i wanna see how it turns out.

I ride left foot in the back all the time. I'll use this to stick the front of my foot under. I'm a little dissapointed that all the different holds out there are just different variations on the same theme.

I ride one foot forward one back most of the time and that still looks awkward to me..It is good to see people trying new stuff though.
Are you making a hold for the front?

I hear ya brother! I use one of Highrollers (Dan) front footholds. I'ts similar to what you have going, only on the front instead of the rear. VERY versitle! My foot is never "mounted" in ine place. I have found that I don't even need to put my back foot in a foot hold on rolls. The front hold is enough. If you can find one they are awsome! I think these would sell well if they were in production. I can't say enough how happy I am with this piece.:cheer:

I will praise this hold as well. I am running that foothold and love it to death... My back foot stays mobile for balancing and so on, while the front foot is locked in w/ just my toes.. it gives you the ability to really move your feet around and rip it... I really never could get comfortable w/ straps for the same reasons Joe said and was stoked to find one... I have two friends that have made their own front holds... it's very simple to throw something together and try it...

Joe. That rear hold scares me bro... I'm afraid your leg is going to get caught in a bad spot and do some real damage... BE CAREFUL!!!

I agree with Nick on both points here... that back hold looks like a leg/ankle breaker for sure.

I love the front hold too... and you change stances with ease if you need to.

I hated being stuck w/ just either my left or right up front... I like to switch stance sometimes... Hell, switch stance re-entries are fun as hell... It also adds a new look to the trick... I can be frontside or backside to a wave on any re-entry. I also do switch stance can cans...

Another cool thing: I like to pop a re-entry and in the middle of the trick switch stance and ride out facing the other direction...
Even my can cans, I (for some reason) switch stance. When I go up for the trick I am goofy footed and when I land back in the tray I land standard... It seems to be easier for me... I can also surf ride and do cutbacks both ways too... I like having thaose options

is all that front hold is is just a mound glassed to the front? I have a lot of foam for molding, and might make one up for this winter when Im putting in footholds. Looks like a great hold.
