Goodbye Piston, Goodbye Motor

Workin too much
I went riding this morning on Lake Norman and the ski started acting like it had a fouled plug then died and would not turn over, I thought it was a dead battery. I wish it had been, in reality the front piston's skirt disintigrated, got into the cylinder cracked the sleve and cyl and did yet unknown dammage to the crank and cases:banghead: :censored: :censored: :censored: :skull2: :skull2:

I can't think of what would make the piston skirt just let go like that I thuink it was just its time to go. Hopefully someone has a spare set of cylinders I can buy from them. I just hope the crank bearings aren't toast:bigeyes:, I plan on switching over to a B-pipe and an ada girdled head since my head got dammaged from the pieces of pistons:banghead:

Your cases will be fine it's the crank I would start to worry about because all aluminum debris from the piston skirt are now mixed in with the bearings.

Use a shop vacuum and try to remove all the debris from the crank case before using a blow gun with compressed air to clean all the particles from the crank bearings. Also spin the crank around slowly and examine all the roller bearings for damage. If you feel any resistance when spinning the crank around I would have it rebuilt or replaced before it fails or you will be buying a few more parts.
