or whatnot. 62t/61x 701. Dual 38's, riva red pipe, porting(dunno what extent)

My low jet is 67.5 and my high jet is 125.

The high is awesome but the low seems like crap. Any recommendations?

Don't do that mod with 38's. If you want to upgrade your carbs, buy some 44's.

why not. That makes absolutely no sense, its a gain in airflow....

Besides I already started milling on out myself.

Hey Marz, dont waste your breath, already tried to explain it............

Taperboring the top is one thing, but to remove those humps is another.......

you will lose carb signal.........Your carbs will most likely not have any bottom end.............. Dont you think Mikuni would have built them the same as the 44's if they thought it was better???? They are there for a reason........

Look Kahuna, Im not saying you dont know your stuff. But I have a somewhat more than basic knowledge of fluid dynamics. Also I have called mikuni USA. The reason they are there was for the choke plate. They said if they didnt make the carbs so short they wouldn't have had to put them there. The choke rod and plate, when in perpendicular open position disrupted the flow to the booster venturi. They used this bore restriction ramp to shunt air back into the booster venturi.

If you can tell me no other reason than loss of jet signal (which will not be the case) I will be doing it. I will probably lose more power by going to dual 44s just by loosing a decent amount of air velocity anyways, my motor isnt ported/big enough to really use them.

But back to the issue, Marz, thanks for telling me that the stock low jet is 70. Gives me a starting point.

Honestly that is the best description I have heard!!! Thanks........

but answer me this, The build that ramp to force the air to the booster venturi, why do you want to remove this????? The 38's in stock form is really a great carb..........

Sorry, I guess I shouldnt have stirred the pot, and BK I honestly mean no disrespect. I just figured I have to try for the hell of it. Ill post all my results and after I finish I will deffinately post a full review and admission of what is better.
