Girdled Head install question.

I just picked up a wamiltons girdled head that was originally on a 62t motor and the guy told me it would fit a 61x aswell but my question is regarding the different length cylinder bolts it comes with....There is a step up in the bottom of my cylinder on the exhaust side and I would imagine there to be 3 longer studs and 3 shorter studs with the way the cylinder is stepped but the hardware I recieved had 4 long ones and 2 short ones. Is this normal? And what do I do with the stock knock sensor? Thanks for the info.

You may try calling Wamiltons about your cylinder studs. For your overhead sensor, you have several options.

-You can zip tie it out of the way.
-Cut/heatshrink the wires near the grommet (without opening the E-box)
-The best option is to open up the E-box and unplug the bullet connectors, remove the sensor, then seal the two remaining holes in the grommet.

So I guess that sensor on top is a temp sensor not a knock sensor.....Does the ecu pull ignition timing when it senses too high of a motor temp?

Are you sure that 'step' goes down the whole side of the cylinder? IIRC that setup only requires the 2 short studs (corners).
