Surfriding getting shocked through throttle in surf

Hey all, in daytona I was getting shocked through the throttle on my ski. I know I read somewhere on here before what could cause that but I can't find it now. It doesnt happen in freshwater only salt.

well then its gotta be a short in the start stop switch wires, had the bilge wire short and shock me before, didnt think there was enough current through the start/stop switch to actually shock you.

When riding salt water you gotta be %100 sure all your wiring is sealed and isolated, its crazy how easy current will jump when salt water is involved

I have had it from JSS quick disconnect studs thru the ebox before. I had them greased up but corrosion still built up on the backside allowing for a conductive path to the back case of the ebox. Add a little salt water and it's a good way to ruin a ride.

I've had a bilge power wire rub through on my throttle bracket. Shocked me so good I felt it all the way up by my elbow.

But I think it makes you ride harder. When your muscles get zapped they yank the throttle so you have no choice but to air it out.

You just left yours alone, is that why you keep going to smaller and smaller motors? I think you need a 650 now, with a 15lb dumbbell between the gas tank and front cover.
