Nascency Chris

The Nascency Project
sorry, i think i will pass on this one...

1. they are very picky about the type of music, if any, that can be used in a "pod"...no popular music can be used. well, that is a very broad statement that can be interpreted ten million different ways...

2. going along with the music thing, they aren't really looking for too much sports-type stuff. at least to me, thier focus is on news, and hallmark channel types of stories about other people...

3. you can smell the lawyers all over that site. they have so many release forms that you need to submit...and then their terms of use are very fuzzy when you upload a video, sorry a pod. that concerns me because whenever you upload a video to any site other than your own you are losing the rights to your own work, or footage...

4. what they are offering to pay is way lower than the market standard for this type of work...

5. not that i have any serious political leanings either way, but, al gore is the chairman of current, and in reading the faq they dispell everyone that they are leaning really hard to the left, yet one of the main catagories on the watch page is "bush" (and not the good kind either)...to me seems kinda hypocritical and you can't trust people like that. again, i worry about losing the rights to my own work...

awesome idea, and im not trying to bash but i think we miss the people we are really trying to reach out to with this venue...these things take time and if its meant to be then it will happen...
