exactly,it is most useful if you have a engine seizure and want to pressure the bottom end to check everything out or to check the bottom end out before assembling the top end when building an engine. Most components above the base gasket have nothing to do with air leaks unless the intake is mounted to the cylinder such as a 440-550 Kawasaki.By eliminating those components the pressure test is more fool proof and you have less components to cause a potential leak, base gaskets usually give few problems and if it is leaking at the head you have bigger problems than an air leak anyway. The intakes still have to be blocked off but that is simple enough and I will probably include plugs with the tool for that purpose.

Interesting. If you don't mind me asking, how do you seal off the crank and rods? Is it a box like device similar to the shape of a cylinder that is bolted down in order to perform the pressure test?

I can't get into specifics at this time but I will say it has an o-ring seal on the base gasket area for sealing to the cases and the gauge and valve for injecting air is already on the tool.I am currently entertaining bids for different production methods to see which is more cost effective .I would like to have the parts cnc machined up and do the assembly myself but injection molded glass reinforced plastics is another option I am throwing around, ideally I would like to do both with an aluminum model for shop use and a injected model for do it yourselfers either way I only do it if I can produce a quality tool that will hold up to years of use..I always thought it was ridiculous to have to pressure test a seized engine before disassembly to determine if the crank seals and intake were sealed or not. That is why I developed this tool.

Okay heres the deal,I have contracted a shop lined to cnc these up and build them, now what I would like to do is build a couple and send one to Chuckie and one to Paul for them to use and check out ,these will be sent to you two guys free of charge if you want one.If you are interested please send me a Pm so I can get your shipping info and I will ship them to you when they are done.Of course any feedback that you can give me on this product would certainly be appreciated, thanks

My best guess so far is between $150.00 to $175.00 for the aluminum model,if this takes off I will be having these injection molded out of glass filled nylon also and those will be considerably cheaper,my goal is to poduce both models, the aluminum model for shop use and the injection molded model for the masses.

I am trying to come up with the massive sum of money they require to start production on this tester, either way I go its not going to be cheap. If I have it CNC'd out of aluminum the initial cost is lower but the individual tester price will be higher.if I go injection molded out of glass reinforced nylon the tester price will be cheaper but the startup cost is through the roof.Either way its on the back burner till some of my used Seadoo inventory is sold.
