Does anyone know of any places to race standups in GA? Never done it before but think it would be fun. Im on Lanier but would go to Altoona or Hartwell.

The DNR in GA really hates buoys. There are organized races/competitions that come through the state but if you are looking for a place to practice every week end, you'll need to buy some buoys, organize friends with stands, find a secret cove to setup in and hope DNR doesn't find you. There is a big group of us 15 or so that ride at Allatoona on a regular basis and we gave up on buoys a long time ago. The DNR used to not care as much as they do now.

the pro watercross tour has a couple stops in florida, including one next weekend. if you want to see racing on a large scale go check it out.

I set up Buoys In Jetski Cove at Lanier.... I even had the DNR sit under my EZ Up all afternoon talking about Stand ups...... As long as you abide by the rules... keep em plenty off shore and leave a swimming area on the beach they are cool... I heard thats not the case at Altoona though... I will be setting them up Sunday AM at the cove again.... Rumor has it there will be a few others showing up!!
