FX-1 Build

Well, went out and picked up an fx-1. This will be the girlfriends ski she is not to fond of the blaster,she would rather ride a stand up. This will also be my back up ski as i am in the process of building a square also. I am new to the fx-1 so any and all help would be great. Here are a few picks when i brought it home

The crank had a few bad bearings so i have one on the way from a fellow board member. I am going to try and keep it stock now for the most part. Spending the money on the square.

When i pulled the purple plastic off i noticed alot of damage. The back corner of the rail was about broke off.

After a few hours i had all the stickers off and found more stuff hiding. Then got to stripping her down.

After a few hours i was tearing into the hull. I am defoaming to fix the hull damage. I will be installing watercraft footholds and i have a set of his sponsons here also,i just don't know if there wide enough. The foam was soaked so this is where i am now.

Lookin good. You consider putting in a bigger pump while you already have the tray defoamed?

Next thing you know you'll be taking the fx1 and giving the Sn to the gf.

I need advice on what intake grate and prop to get for a freestyle set up. Motor will be mostly stock except for maybe carbon reeds and lighten flywheel for now.

I allready have a ton of money in the square so this will be a budget build for now. Lol

650 route will keep you in your budget build. Still finishing mine up but it is real cheap.

I bought a 18/23 Skat off Flash. Talked to him about that and he seemed to think that would be best with my setup right now. ADA Head, B-pipe, and thats about all for now.

With that pipe and head,you will find that without a rev-limiter mod (or MSD enhancer) it will want to rev up to the stock CDI limits...making it break up. But once you get that together, it's gonna rip!

What size is the stock carb on the fx-1? I have a couple different options but would like to keep it single carb.

Stock is 38 Mikuni. I use it and its great for low end punch! Can't go wrong with that!

Stock carb is a 44 SBN. Same as all other 61x motors.

Got all the foam out,sealing er up and ready to reinforce. I have 12oz and 17 oz to choose from. Which one should i use?

Man has this ski been ridden HARD! The hull was pretty beat up as you can tell,the crank was bad,mid shaft is shot. Today i take the prop off and O MY WORD! The impeller was coming apart as they wer riding. The pump vanes are some of the best i have ever seen!
