Fuel pump problem

Gday just wondering if anyone can help. the fuel pump diapham filling with fuel from the pulse hose coming from the crankcase pulled carbs apart and cleaned still the same problem. It used to happen gradually but seems to happen more quickly with each ride causing the motor to starve of fuel and eventually stopping any help would be appreciated

If it is actually coming from your pulse line, that means you have WAY too much fuel in your crank case. Probably from bad / leaking needle and seats.

Could also be a bad fuel pump diaphragm, and leaking internally.

Either way, I would fully rebuld the carbs, use genuine Mikuni parts, and replace needle and seats.

Just ordered parts from the states funny how you can buy them from usa have them delivered for half the price you can buy them for in australia .thanks for the advice

You said carbs, so you have duals? is it happening to both? just curious, it's an odd problem. I definitely agree with john, and believe it's the diaphragm. When there is negative pressure is the crankcase it pulls vacuum in the pulse line. If there was a hole in the diaphragm it would pull fuel threw. I've never had a problem with that diaphragm and often don't mess with it.

Yes with both carbs i think you guys are right about the diaphragms being the culprit . going to put a carby kit through and replace needle and seats just to be sure.worst part about it is that wont have a ski for about 2 weeks waiting for parts going to kill me.need to win lotto and have a second ski

I'd be quite the coincidence that both diaphragms have holes. Even both needles and seats leaking enough to cause that much extra fuel in the crankcase would be a coincidence. I'm curious to see how this turns out.

Order extra kits now. I always keep a handful in the to go box.

Just out of curiosity who did you order these from? Always like to know who's a fast shipper from the 'States. I'm in Canberra and have been pleasantly surprised by the speed of delivery from some sellers.

Carby rebuild kit was through ebay (bayside trading ) needle and seats through ajsp .ive had great service and speedy delivery from John at jetski solutions , ada racing and cold fusion some great guys over there must because the market is so much bigger but for anything in australia you can't beat ajsp

I stock genuine Mikluni brand kits, and parts, ship same day as paid. For international we typically ship USPS priority, but can up-grade to express, or what ever you want.

Well the saga continues . water tested ran awesome for about 30 min and the wind blew to strong so pulled the pin(thought to myself sweet problem fixed) put on back of ute start it up to get any excess water out ran like crap kept cutting out.got home treid to fog before disassembly the motor ran away then would stop. pulled carbs apart same problem diaphams filled with fuel .i have had problems with carb manifold leaking before causing the motor to run away now i have two problems but at least carb manifold gasket leak is easy but the fuel going up the pulse line is doing my head in . checked diaphams and they don't seem to be leaking.maybe i should have checked if any fuel was left in crankcase before i put rebuilt carbs back on.any help would be great

Sorry there was a leak in one of the diaphragms wasn't blowing hard enough . that was a brand new one l cleaned properly but still didnt seal which is my next question what makes the clear diapham seal to the black gasket is it pressure , heat or the fuel
