Fuel Lines

Everybody on here is always a huge help, so I am sure you guys can all help with this. I have an old 83 JS550 that I figured I should replace the fuel lines in. When I bought the battery for it, I asked for some fuel line and was given 5/16 but this looks to big. I need to know what sizes I should get (it looks like there are two different sizes now), so any help would be great. Thank you in advance.

If you don't want to use all the zip ties, use 3/16" ID Tygon fuel line. The stuff is all over Ebay and Master Carr has it as well. Tygon IS the best fuel line you will ever use. If not Tygon, fuellineguy.biz also carries good stuff!!!

Let me send you my Tygon that I just removed from my ski after 2 years. And you know how little ride time it has.

I've been using the tygon line for four seasons now and it is still as soft and bendable as when it went on. A few of the shortest pieces have slightly discolored but all the rest look and feel like new. I have to rearrange my fuel system for this season and am not planning on replacing any of it.

BK, I think you got a bad batch or the wrong version or something because you are the only one complaining about this stuff. Care to expand on what exactly happened?

Really? It's not the crap from Motion Pro is it? They call their stuff Tygon but it is not as far as I can tell. I still change all my lines every winter wether it needs it or not because as you know, the motor is out anyway so I figure what is another 30.00 for fuel, primer, and water lines to ensure no issues for the next season.

It is Tygon, not the Motion Pro. Picked it up from the same place everybody else does.

Dustin, it turned colors, kinda a yellow brown now. Plus it got hard at the fittings. Plus one thing I found is it kinked really easy. Granted, this is the 3/16 which is not as stiff as the 1/4" stuff. For the money it is fine. If your like Gil and replace it every week then it is good stuff. I just got some of the fuel line that has been posted here. Cannot remember their names Fuel Line Biz or something like that. Seems pretty good. Picked up waterline also. We shall see.

Honestly, I think OEM is the best.

No doubt-the stuff you got from fuel line. biz is also good stuff. don't get hard till the 3rd year running NRG which seems to be hard on everything but pistons. lol
