Well, I was riding the FX1 and it suddenly died. I tried to start it with no go. So I primed it and it fires up. When a little ways, and it does again. Finally, I had to prime it while riding to get back to the dock. So, I am guessing that it is not getting fuel somehow. What should I check?

Where does your primer pick up fuel ?
Before the filter or after ?
When was the last time you changed your filter ?
If you aren't sure if the filter is flowing, rip it out and run a piece of pipe in its place. If that solves the problem than get a new filter ASAP.
There's a screen filter in the carb that might be blocked.
Remove and inspect.
Are your lines free of junk ?
Check and blow air in to clear any crap.

yes it could as the primer bypasses the carb with it's fuel delivery.
Before you go nuts, pull out the primer and run the line from the tank straight into the carb. You'll have the majority of potential problems bypassed.
Run the ski and see what happens.

Trial and error,
There are two lines coming from the tank...how do I run them both in to the carb? Or do you want me to run just one and leave the other still attached to the selector?
OR
Do you want me to run the single from teh selector to the carb, which would bypass the filter.

Take the on or reserve fuel line (which ever doesn't have the primer on it)that runs from the tank to the selector and pull it off the selector.
Now take the fuel line that runs from the selector to the carb and pull it off the carb.
Take that first line that runs from the tank to selector and install the former selector side on the empty barb on the carb.
Now take the fuel line that runs from the selector to the carb and pull it off the carb.

Now that it's running, you can hook up the selector back up and see what happens.
Just the selector first.
Than the primer but I would get a new fuel filter.

you can clean your stock filter and try it again, if it is not that then it is most likely the fuel selector...
How would you clean a stock filter? Pitch that old thing and get a new one.

they are made to be cleaned, just back wash it with 2 stroke...nothing better than stock!!!
