Fuel delivery issues? maybe?

I took my X2 out for the first time yesterday and it ran like a champ:biggthumpup: , for a while. :frown: then it started to act up. At first it was the idle screw. It was not lock tighted in place so it would idle close to WOT. Not a huge problem because we caught it and just removed the idle screw. However it did not want to run again after that. It would start and then you hit the gas and it hiccups and or dies. I got by for a while by holding the throttle at 1/4 and let it wind up a bit then hitting the gas. However after a while even that did not work. It finally died on Matt and he swam it back in and then we carried it back up the bank and home we went. When we got back to Matt's place we: Drained the gas tank/no water, checked the fuel lines/no blocks, checked the fuel filter (the ones in the tank)/not clogged and we took apart the carb/not that dirty. Any ideas as what else I may try. We were thinking the next step would be to check for spark and then compression. Any suggestions would be great.

Sorry, that is incorrect. Jeremy (Snackem) is talking about the idle set screw. It only sets the stop position of the throttle shaft.

It runs fine without the screw.
