Fuel delivery from tank to carb problem

having a little bit of an issue here and hope you guys can suggest what to do next.

I am running a stock 62t/61x with stock mik 38's...I just got done hooking everything back up, shot some premix into the carbs and it fired right up, seems to run fine but cuts out once fuel is used and does not pull any more gas from the tank. All lines are still dry and I am pretty sure they are hooked up properly. Any suggestions??

Fuel pumps assembled correctly? Tripple check that your fuel pickup inside your tank is connected and your lines are hooked up correctly. Any inline fuel filters? Plugged? Air check valve working properly? Pulse line hooked up?

I would start at the tank and work to the carbs that way if its something simple you dont to more work than you have to.

Filters not on backwards? lol you laugh but ive seen it happen.

Disconnect the line into the rear carb. Pressurize the tank to see if you at least have fuel flow to the carbs. The on/off switch might be clogged.

Alright just checked the inline fuel filter and that flowed fine, removed pickup tube and it is free of debris, I even blew in it and gas came back out of it (hope that is a good thing). Petcock is removed so that is not it.

I've now got the carbs off...I am thinking it is fuel pump related...any ideas what too look for in the fuel pump??

Mike...silly question but how do you pressurize the tank??

well I just took a closer look at my carbs and it turns out I have the pulse hooked up on the fuel in nipple...can't believe I did that, no wonder nothing was flowing. Live and learn.

Everybody does it, thats why you check the easy ones first.

Its funnier when you pull your carb apart, check it all over, everything looks good so you hook it back up correctly (unknown to you that it was wrong before) and try it again and it works then go about your day thinking you magically fixed it by pulling the carbs apart :dunno:

Just FYI for future reference. Take compressed air and blow into the tank at the same time trying to plug the hole with a rag. It dont take much pressure.
