Forward Foot hold / handle placement

I guess this topic has been beat on enough ,but I have not found enough info "using the search" . I bought an XFT hood from a board member he said that he places his foot holds further forward in the tray than the norm . He also stated that his pole was somewhere in the -15 range . He said he really liked this set up because it centered the gravity of his ski. He is a sponsored rider so I'm weighting his comments accordingly. Any thoughts on this set up ?

Would make it harder to push down on the back of the ski to pop off the water, but i suppose you center your gravity more. I ride more like surf stance, so ive got the back still controlled, but im more toward the center. I dont have foot holds though.
From a leverage stand point the back is a better place, but it wouldnt be a bad idea to try if you have the time and money to redo foot holds a few times.

i have ridden the exact same ski with the same pole set up and if you are only doing flatwater freestyle and not cruising around the lake it is a awsome set up
