Theorising on pump setups and enlarged intake gullet sizes. I have seen some pics on this site where the intake gullet is enlarged in front of the pump-shoe but not the pump-shoe itself
If driveshaft is left out, the scoopgrate is left off, pump is fitted with an impeller loose in it:
How many of you can slide the impeller out through the intake gullet with out it getting stuck? Or better yet the clearance increases?
I personally had to do a lot of grinding on my carbon X-2 which has a 144 Mag pump for the impeller to slide through, made a big difference on hookup(I had previously enlarged the intake gullet width)
